ClayTrack is owned and operated by Alameda Enterprises LLC ("Alameda Enterprises," "we," "us," or "our"), and we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use ClayTrack in a web browser or in our iPhone and Android apps (together, "the App") or visit our website at claytrackapp.com ("the Site"). ClayTrack works in any browser with nothing to install; the iPhone and Android apps are optional.
By creating an account or using ClayTrack, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App or Site.
When you register, we collect and store:

Guest participants: Any logged-in shooter can add other people to a round by name only, with no account required. If you are added as a guest, the round owner has stored your name and scores for that round. If you believe your name has been added without your consent, contact us and we will help remove it.
If you save shooting clubs, facilities, or ranges, we store the details you enter — such as name, address, city, state, website, and phone number — along with the courses and station counts you configure. This data is private to your account unless you link it to a round others can see.
ClayTrack also maintains a public directory of shooting facilities that we curate ourselves. You may link one of your saved facilities to a directory listing, which helps us recognise that different shooters are talking about the same venue. Linking matters for issue reports: if you report a problem at a facility that is linked to a listing, and that venue is managed by its operator on ClayTrack, your report is delivered to that operator. See Facility Issue Reports below.
The App never reads your device's location on its own. If you tap Use my location, Find the range I'm at, or Set the pin from where I'm standing, the App reads your position once, only to find the range you are at or to place a pin on a range you are adding. We do not track you, we do not keep a history of where you have been, and we never store your position against your account. The only thing saved is the pin on a range you choose to add — and other shooters never see a pin, only the range's name. The IP address our servers receive as part of ordinary web traffic tells us which country a request came from and nothing more precise; we never use it to work out where you are within that country (see Technical and Usage Information below). You can decline the location prompt and use every part of the App without it, and you can turn location off for ClayTrack at any time in your device or browser settings.
If you use the friends and social features, we store your friend connections, incoming and outgoing friend requests, and any users you have blocked. ClayTrack includes an activity feed and a friends leaderboard: your completed rounds, scores, and profile may be visible to your friends and, depending on a round's privacy setting, to other ClayTrack users. You control each round's visibility (private, friends only, or public).
If you submit a bug report, feedback, a feature request, or report another user, we store the content of your submission, the type of report, and your account identifier so we can follow up and act on it.
ClayTrack lets you report a problem at a range — a broken thrower, a safety concern, a course in poor condition. When you submit one we store the issue type, any note you write, the station and course it relates to, the facility it concerns, and your display name, together with the date.
These reports are shared outside ClayTrack. That is their purpose — a report only helps if the range sees it:
We never pass your email address, phone number, or any other contact detail to a range. If you would rather a range did not see your name, do not submit a report.
Like most web services, our servers automatically receive standard technical information when you use the App — such as your IP address, browser type, and request timestamps. We use this information to operate the service, enforce rate limits and security protections, and diagnose problems. To protect account forms — such as registration, sign-in, and password reset — from automated abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-focused CAPTCHA alternative that analyzes limited signals from your browser and device to tell real users apart from bots. We do not use any of this information for advertising or to build marketing profiles.
Country. From your IP address we record the country you were in when you created your account, and the country alongside activity such as signing in. The IP address itself is not saved on your account; it is held only briefly in the short-lived security counters described in Section 4. We use the country to choose sensible defaults (for example, imperial or metric units), to spot fraudulent sign-ups, and to see as totals where ClayTrack is used.
Your device and app version. We record whether you use ClayTrack on the web, the iPhone app, or the Android app, and whether on a phone or a computer. When you use our iPhone or Android app, we also keep the kind of device (for example, "iPhone" or the Android model), its operating-system version, the ClayTrack version installed, and when it was last used. This lets us help when something goes wrong on a particular version and tells us when an old version can be retired. It is visible only to ClayTrack staff and is deleted with your account.
Error and crash reports. If the App runs into an error or crashes, it sends us a report so we can fix it: the error, the technical trace of what the App was doing, the page, and the app version. On iPhone this can include the diagnostic report Apple prepares for the app's developer. A report does not contain your scores, photos, or password. If a server error happens while you are signed in or signing in, the email address involved is kept with that report for up to 30 days so we can follow up with you, and is then removed.
When you create an account through a link on our website, we keep up to three facts with your account: the website page the sign-up link was on, how you first reached our website, and the first page of our website you landed on. "How you first reached our website" is one general label only — search engine, social media, email, another website, a campaign link, or direct. We do not store the address of the page you came from, the search you typed, or which social network or site it was. To pass these along, our website notes the label and the first page in your browser and adds them to the sign-up link.
The links to the app stores on our website carry the same kind of information. A link to Google Play carries the page it is on and the same general label; if you install our Android app from that link, Google Play passes them to the app and they are kept with the account you create, exactly as above. A link to the App Store carries only a short tag naming the page; Apple reports to us how many downloads came from each page as totals, and nothing from that link reaches the app or your account. An account created in the app after finding it in a store by yourself carries none of this.
We use this only as totals — for example, how many new accounts came from a given page, and how many of those shooters went on to score a round — so we can tell which pages help people find ClayTrack. It is not used for advertising, it is not shared with or sold to anyone, and it is deleted along with your account.
If you claim a facility in order to manage it, we collect the work email address you provide, your name, and the role you say you hold at that business. We email a verification code to that address to confirm you can receive mail there, and we keep a record of the claim and our decision on it. A ClayTrack administrator reviews every claim by hand before granting access. If an operator adds staff members, we store which accounts they have authorised.
If you opt in to receive product updates and announcements from ClayTrack, your email address is stored in Mailchimp, our email marketing platform, and used only to send you those updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it to third parties. ClayTrack is currently free, but we may introduce paid features or other forms of monetization in the future, and free accounts are not guaranteed. Even if we do, our commitment not to sell your personal information will not change, and we will update this policy before making any material change to how we handle your data.
The ClayTrack app itself does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. To keep you signed in, the app uses:
HttpOnly and SameSite=Strict, so it cannot be read by JavaScript or sent from other sites, and it expires automatically.Meta Pixel (marketing website only). On our marketing website at claytrackapp.com — but not inside the app — we use the Meta Pixel, an analytics tool from Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook/Instagram). It uses cookies and similar technologies to measure our advertising and understand how visitors find ClayTrack — for example, which pages you view and whether you click through to the app. This may allow Meta to link your visit to your Facebook or Instagram account and to show you ClayTrack ads. The pixel runs only on the marketing site. You can limit it by using your browser's privacy and cookie controls or an ad blocker, by adjusting your Facebook ad preferences, and through industry opt-out tools such as the DAA and NAI. Google Analytics (marketing website only). On the marketing website — but not inside the app — we also use Google Analytics 4, a web-analytics service from Google. It uses cookies and similar technologies to measure site traffic and understand how visitors find and move through ClayTrack (for example, which pages they view and where they came from). Google processes this data on our behalf and may use it under its own policies. You can opt out with your browser's privacy and cookie controls, an ad blocker, or Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data for details.
ClayTrack runs entirely on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Your account and app data is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database, profile photos are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage, and short-lived security counters (such as rate limits) are stored in Cloudflare KV. You can review Cloudflare's data practices in their privacy policy.
We apply reasonable technical safeguards: passwords are hashed with PBKDF2, session refresh tokens are stored only as hashes (never in plain text), and access tokens are short-lived. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your device and browser up to date.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, rounds, scores, facilities, friend connections, and avatar. Note that guest names and scores you entered into other shooters' rounds remain part of those rounds' history, and content you reported or submitted may be retained as needed for moderation and legal records. Email addresses on the product-update list are kept until you unsubscribe.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal data. ClayTrack honors these rights for all users:

ClayTrack is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@claytrackapp.com and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify users in the App or by email if you have opted in to communications. Your continued use of ClayTrack after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
